The Race

The Volta do Lago Caixa is an ultra marathon of sports entertainment of participatory nature that promotes teamwork through the practice of relay or individual athletics.

The road race has as a technical characteristic, athletes integration, developing the team spirit and collectivity.   

Part of the annually calendar of the city, the Volta do Lago Caixa, has great importance for ultra marathoners runners and relay runners teams from gym, companies and governmental branches. The Volta do Lago Caixa covers all age categories for athletes from 15 to 70 years.    

The Volta do Lago Caixa is a public open competition. The teams can be formed by 02, 04, 06 and 08 members, mixed or not, and according to the race rules. There are 14 pre-determined legs that vary from 3 to 11k, totalizing 100k with the team members exchanging at the Integration Post (PI’s).

In this race also happens the Individual Ultra Marathon with the distances of 100k and 60k and the time limit of 11 and 7 hours respectively to finish and compete for the championship title.
